YUMURTA IS BEST OF SEOUL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
"Yumurta" is announced the best film in 9th Seoul International Film Festival. There were 8 films presented in the International Competition section from Belgium, Denmark, USA, Italy, Hungary and Portugal.

YUMURTA "BEST FILM" IN RAVENNA
In the second edition of Ravenna Mosaico International Film Festival which was between 14 - 19 April, the jury awarded "EGG" with the "Best Film" award.

In the "European Film Competition" section, there were 9 films in total with, Pascale Ferran's "Lady Chatterley", "This is England" from Shane Meadows and Ulrich Seidl's "Import-Export".

In this year's competition section, which aims to build a cultural bridge between two countries, there were 4 films from Germany and 5 films from Turkey.

EGG WILL BE RELEASED IN FRANCE
EGG, having it's World Premiere in 60th Cannes Film Festival, Quinzaine des Realisateurs Section, will meet the French audience in April. The film will be opening in 23 April 2008 by Les Acacias Distribution.

EGG IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION IN IRANIAN FAJR FILM FESTIVAL
EGG is representing Turkey in 26th International Fajr Film Festival in International Competition Section. The section has 19 films including films from successful directors such as, Nikita Mikhalkov, Alexander Sokurov and Majid Majidi.
 
26th International Fajr Film Festival has two more guests from Turkey this year.

EGG IN EUROPE OUT OF EUROPE COMPETITION IN 36. INTERNATIONAL BELGRADE FILM FESTIVAL
The 36th International Film Festival shall be held from February 22nd to March 2nd, 2008 in Belgrade. The festival will be presenting EGG in "Europe Out Of Europe" Competition Section. EGG is one of the 6 films in the section. The other films are from Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Kyrgizistan.

EGG IN COMPETITION IN 13. FILMFESTIVAL TURKEI - DEUTCSHLAND
Every year, building a strong intercultural dialog between the German and Turkish cinema, filmfestival Turkei - Deutschland is far most important festival in Germany. This year the festival presents EGG in Feature Film Competition.

Between 28 February and 9 March, an internationl jury will be giving awards for 'Best Film', 'Best Actress' and 'Best Actor' nominated from 5 Turkish and 5 German feature film. And an additional Audience Award will also be given.

9 NOMINATIONS TO EGG FROM SİYAD
EGG, has been nominated for 9 awards by SİYAD (Turkish Film Critics Association) , which is giving awards for the 40th year.

In the award ceremony on 3 March 2008 Monday at TİM Maslak Show Center, The Turkish films released in 2007 will be awarded. The awards will be given in 11 different categories. The nominees who are selected from the votes of 55 members of SİYAD are from the credits of 12 films out of 40 films which are released in 2007.

ANOTHER AWARD FOR EGG FROM PORTUGAL
EGG was in competition in Estoril European Film Festival which took place in Portugal between 8-17 November. EGG is awarded with Best 2nd Film in Estoril. The international jury of the festival was composed of Miquel Barcelo, Stéphane Braunschweig, Don DeLillo, Asia Argento and Ruy Duarte De Carvalho.

The jury of Sevilla Film Festival in Spain honored EGG with Eurimages Award. This award provides 30.000 Euros of support to the Spanish distributor.

"Egg" was honored with 7 awards in 44th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. The awards were, Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Director, Best Costume Design, Behlül Dal Best Newcomer and NETPAC award.

EGG was in competition in the 14th Valdivia Film Festival. The jury of the festival honored Semih Kaplanoğlu as the best director and Saadet Işıl Aksoy as the best actress.

The Turkey premier of EGG will be done in 44th Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival. EGG will be national and international film festival. The screening of EGG will be on 25th October.

EGG NOMINATED AS BEST OF EUROPE

European Film Academy, which was created by Ingmar Bergman in 1989, nominated EGG to a total 12 awards such as, EUROPEAN FILM 2007, EUROPEAN DIRECTOR 2007, EUROPEAN ACTRESS, 2007 EUROPEAN ACTOR, 2007, 2007 EUROPEAN CINEMATOGRAPHER 2007. EGG, is the only Turkish film among 42 films which the Academy has selected.

European Film Academy unites 1,800 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture. Throughout the year, the EFA initiates and participates in a series of activities such as conferences, seminars and workshops, having the goal to build a bridge between creativity and the industry. The 20th European Film Awards will be presented in Berlin on December 1, 2007.

EGG IS HONORED WITH AWARD AT SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL

EGG by Semih Kaplanoglu was in international competition in the thirteenth of Sarajevo Film Festival. The jury of the festival, composed by Meinholf Zurhorst, Frederick Maire, Özgü Namal, Andrea Štaka with the presidency of Jeremy Irons, honored Saadet Işıl Aksoy as the best Actress with her role in EGG. She received her award from president Jeremy Irons.

"EGG" AT THE 60TH CANNES FILM FESTIVAL QUINZAINE DES REALISATEURS

Egg," the first film of Semih Kaplanoğlu's "Yusuf Trilogy", has been selected for screening at the "Quinzaine des Realisateurs" section of the 60th Cannes Film Festival.

A co-production between Turkey and Greece, the film was made with the support of Eurimages, Turkey's Ministry of Culture, the Greek Film Center, Efes Pilsen and the Municipality of Tire and features Nejat İşler and Saadet Işıl Aksoy in the leading roles.

"Milk" the second film from the Yusuf Trilogy--Honey, Milk, and Egg--written by Semih Kaplanoğlu and Orçun Köksal will be introduced to film professionals by the Cannes Atelier, one of the official sections of the Cannes festival.

THE POST PRODUCTION OF "EGG" BEGAN IN ATHENS
After the completion of shootings and editting of "Egg", post-production process is continuing in Athens in Sklavis and PPV studios. "EGG" as a Turkish-Greek co-production, received the support of Greek Film Center as well.

The internet portal for European Cinema Cineuropa was in the shooting location of "EGG". Cineuropa team was in Tire during the shootings of "EGG" and they have put the interviews they made with the director and the crew on the web site.

SHOOTINGS OF "EGG" HAS BEEN COMPLETED
Shootings of the first film of the trilogy "EGG" has been completed in Tire, Izmir. Film is in the editing period. The leading roles are Nejat İşler and Saadet Işıl Aksoy. We will see Ufuk Bayraktar and Gülçin Şantırcıoğlu in the film as well.

Eurimages, which supports European co-productions decided to entitle "EGG" for 150.000 Euros support in the October meeting. "EGG" is a Turkish-Greek co-production.

"EGG" WAS IN PARIS PROJECT...
"Egg" the first film of the "Yusuf Trilogy", was in Paris between July 1st - 5th in Paris. Kaplanoğlu was invited to "Paris Project" meetings which bring the leading producers, distributors and television channels together. The selection of 10 projects for "Paris Project" is a result of a one year exploration of films from all around the world.

"EGG" the first film of the trilogy was in Cinemart Co-production Market between 25 January - 5 February. "EGG" was selected among several projects from all around the world. In Rotterdam Film Festival which the entire film sector follows, the selected projects come together with leading production and distribution companies.
